Another Day with a Box!

Jaycob loved taking pictures with/in the box the day before that he insisted that I do it again today! I love a few of these pictures so much!!

What They Say is True!

A child does play with a box more then the toy that comes in it! Grandma sent one of Abygail's Christmas presents to the house and it came in this large box! This provided entertainment for the kids for good 3 days! Thanks Mom!!

Pretending

Jaycob lately has been doing a lot of pretending... No we're not talk about him acting like a daddy, a dog, a doctor, or an other animal. Here's a small list and description of what he's been pretending to be this week.

A toilet flushing: Yep! He'll stand in the middle of the room and says, "Water go down" "Here's the hole". He spins in a circle and goes down, making flushing noises the whole time!!! Sometimes he'll even say he's poo-poo going down the hole....

A rocking chair: He'll sit on the couch and put his arms straight out and rock back and forth and say, "Rock, rock. Rock, rock".

A clock: He leans over the coffee table from the ribs up and then swings his legs back and forth and says, "I clock! Tick, tock, tick, tock". Where he has seen this one I don't know. We don't have any clocks that have pendulums like that. But this has been one of his favorites!

A train: Now we all know he loves his trains, but lately he's been becoming one! He stands there and moves his arms back and forth like the train wheels. He even tries to get Abygail and the rest of us to be train cars!!

A microwave or oven: I'm not so sure which one he's doing here. He'll sit on the floor and say, "Cold, get warm". Then he'll make some beeping noises, after a bit he'll say, "Ohhh ahhhh hot, hot hot!". I'm not sure if its the oven or the microwave because both of those items warm things up and beep, but if you ask him which one he is he'll just say, "Yes"....

Not only has he done all these frequently in the last week, but he has done already this morning!!!

This is Entertainment!

So what is it that has my children's attention ???

Its this:
Yep, its that time of year for Charlie Brown specials!! Daddy and I kinda have an ongoing Charlie Brown thing and so last year for Christmas I bought him a DVD gift set of the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas specials. Well, come Halloween time we couldn't help but introduce the kids to 'Its The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown'. Both of them liked it quite a bit. Naturally come Thanksgiving time we showed them 'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving' and they enjoyed that quite a bit too.
And now that Thanksgiving is over we figured it was time for the all time favorite classic of 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'. THEY LOVED IT!!! So much that today Jaycob watched it, I can't count how many times... I know I put it in at 12pm when I laid Aby down and it played all the way until "Little Man" was picked up in the evening!! Yeah, it was probably on for close to 6 hours!!! Now they weren't constantly watching it, but they would sure get mad if I tried to turn it off!!
Ohhhh.... And yea that's our undecorated Christmas tree standing in the corner! It WILL get decorated eventually!

Thanksgiving Day

This year we went to Uncle D and Aunt T's for Turkey Day! All the family was there and we had a blast just enjoying the day! It ended up being quite warm out at a balmy 67 - 70 degrees most the day :-0

While we waited for dinner to cook we all headed outside to play! Abygail loved the slide! I really wish we had the place for a swing set.

There were only a few trees in the very nice yard and it just happened to have dropped most of its leaves recently! Perfect for leaf piles and such! So first all the kids gathered a decent amount of leaves with just their hands.

Then we had Uncle D scare up a few rakes for us and the little pile soon turned into a very large pile!

Where's Older Sister?? She would borrow down into the pile of leaves and have all the little ones (Jaycob, Cousin L, and Abygail) cover her!
And just when they would give up hope that she would ever come out she would pop up like a jack in the box. All would laugh and be crazy and it would start all over again!

After so much of this game the leaves became so spread out and crunched up that they were useless to really hide in. So they just started throwing them at each other instead!

No more pictures Mom!! I just wanna hang out!

Famous Again!!

Remember a couple Saturdays ago when we went trick or treating at the gardens?? Well, I happened to be googling for something else when I came across this..... I did change names and all that, but this is copied right from the newspapers site!!! Yep, my kids must look good in the paper since this is the second time this year!

Tony Houston, 4, of 'Nearby' was dressed as a fireman while his sister Katie, 3, was dressed as a pumpkin Minnie Mouse at the haunted trail Saturday morning at The Gardens. The annual daytime trick-or-treat event brings out local organizations and businesses to hand out candy, books and games to children. Proceeds from the $1 entry fee go to charity.

Happy 2nd Birthday Abygail!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Cute little video of Jaycob and Abygail counting and trying to figure out what cupcake might taste the yummiest!!

Once they finally figured out what cupcake was best....

Let the mess insue!

Fall Leaves Fall

Today we made fall trees or at least tried to! All Jaycob wanted to do is make the leaves "fall Mama". So it really doesn't look like there are any in his tree. But we tried! I did draw the tree trunk, but he drew all the grass! And you see the long black line on the right? With the one little leaf on top? That's his tree!! He drew that all by himself! He was so proud of his tree that he asked me to take a picture of it!!

And of course Abygail then wanted her picture taken too!! Look at that proud smile on her face!!
