The kids were upstairs playing and it gets really quiet so I get up to see what they're up to. As I'm headed up the stairs Jaycob comes out of Aby's bedroom and tells me.... "Momma, don't come up here. Momma mad big mess". "No Momma no, mess!".No I wasn't mad, but yes it was a BIG mess!! The 3 of them (they had a friend over) had every one of the stuff toys we own out on the floor!! Two of them would lay on the floor and the other would throw the stuffed toys up into the air and they would say it was snowing!!! Ok I've heard of raining cats and dogs, but this was just crazy!

We had a speech assessment done for Jaycob today. The woman came and sat on our floor, pulled out a book and some blocks and put Jaycob through a series of test. Jaycob could easily match the colored shapes, name the objects, and answer the questions. The woman could understand most of what he was saying, she did notice that he drops letters out of words! Its never the same letters out of the same words or even in the same spot!! Like the one she pointed out was "Puppy"... Well one time when he said it he said puy, leaving out the P's. The next time he said it he said pppy, leaving out the U. So its never the same letters or in the same spots. So she did speculate that perhaps he just talks to fast. She did say that he was above and beyond his skill levels for other things, so of course that made me very proud!

She's not an actual speech therapist so that's the next step. With the assessments she did today they will decide what kind of specialist they will need to gather for the next meeting. So right now we're waiting for a letter to tell us when this next meeting will be. She said that from her knowledge Jaycob will qualify for anything between individual speech therapy to 4 day preschool. I'm kinda hoping that they'll assess him and he'll fall into the preschool range of things. I think the extra socialization and exposure to other/different people will be good for not only his speech, but his behavior as well. But I guess we'll have to wait for the next meeting to see what they say! I'll keep you all posted!

I Improved It!

Check it out I made some bridges!! Jaycob of course was thrilled! Still don't have enough track though!

Scrub a Dub Dub

Today Abygail and I went to the clinic. We were told to sit somewhere and we looked at the posters and talked about the ick down the seat cushion. And then I kinda left her to her own devices. First off she started calling all the corpsmen 'sharks' and running the other way screaming, "SHARK, Oh No Shark!!". To funny! She kept this up the whole time we were there waiting (40 minutes).

At one point she looked at me and said, "Water Mama." and was rubbing her hands together. I just kinda nonchalantly asked her if she was washing her hands. "Yeah Mama!" It wasn't until a few minutes later when she tried handing me some 'soap' I really realized what she was doing. Next to us was like a modular office table, it was broke. One of the screws that go into a camlock was hanging down from the top. She was pretending that screw was a soap dispenser!! She would put her hand up under it and then 'wash' a part of her body and then share her soap with me and I'd be required to wash my body! We ended up going through all our body parts like this!

I guess this all just struck me just so because I don't get a lot one on one time with her! It was nice to actually get this time today, even though she was diagnosed with a severe ear infection.

Mad Hatters

These hats have been a big hit in our house! To me I can't help but think of a 'pimp' hat when I see these! But the kids love them! Not only my two, but Maddy and 'Little Man' love them too. Who would of guessed the goofiest filler present I bought at the dollar store would have been such a hit!?!

Fun and Toys

They love this place! Its tiny and I wish I had the money to put them in the classes that it holds. But I don't... So we only get to go when there's a party!

Later in the day we were cleaning up the house and found this! Jaycob built this all by himself. We told him it looked like and train and he got really mad at us saying it wasn't!!! What does it look like to you??

Art and Engineering

We painted snowflakes today. We used watercolors which did not go as well as I had hoped or planned. They listened and pained with acrylics so well last month that I thought this would be a piece of cake for them. It wasn't! All Jaycob wanted to do was try and drink the water after it turned blue and Abygail just wanted to mix the paints in the tray. The ones on the left are Abygail's and the ones on the right are Jaycob's. Aren't they pretty!?!

Later in the afternoon Jaycob built this beautiful bridge. I just asked him about it and he said Older Sister built it. But I assure you she was even here when he built this! You see the row of square blocks to the right, going under the bridge? These were boats and their cars, like train cars....

Last Ones

Ok, Mom these the last ones.... Every time the kids got in the bath here kitty would be right on the edge of the tub... So much for cats not liking water!!! I was sad to see these two go....
