Trick or Treat!!

Getting ready to go trick or treating!
Ready to ride to Maddy's!!

We finally got movin' and the kids got right into it! As you can see neither one of the kids would wear their hats/heads.... Nobody knew what they were all night, but that's OK they didn't care!

Trick or Treat!!!

Awwww.... Friends!

Abygail loved this lighted kitty on the porch of this house.

And she hated the dog at this house. Can you blame her? Look at the size of that thing! Jaycob as you can see didn't mind him at all and actually thought he was quite funny in his shirt!!

All the kids made out like bandits tonight! We have more then enough candy to last us a year.

Carvin' Pumpkins

We carved our pumpkins tonight. Both Jaycob and Abygail got a kick using the spoons to get the seeds out, but neither would use their hands!!

Abygail would get bored on and off and Daddy snapped a few shots of one of these moments!
And our finished pumpkin!!

Tiiiimmmmmbbbeeerrrrrrrr!!!

If only someone had yelled that first... I could have, oh I don't know... Moved the house??

11/02 I guess I should add that no it wasn't windy or anything!! It was a beautiful day... If you look you can see how blue the skies were in the pictures. We did have about 3-4 days of non-stop rain before this... And I have to tell you this tree was DEAD and SOAKin' wet!! So my guess is just the ground was to soppy to hold up the heaviness of the tree! But I'm no expert....

Halloween in the Garden

Yesterday we went to the gardens to a trick or treating event they had going on. We've had plans to go to this for over a month. We haven't had ANY rain all summer, and wouldn't you know it's been raining since Wednesday?? We got up yesterday and it was still raining!! I was sooo disappointed. But the gardens are over the bridge and I know from experience the weather is always different over the bridge (even though its only about 7 miles). The weather here had let up a bit so I decided to go ahead and get the kids ready and go. If it was raining there then no big deal! We got there and the sky was a little overcast, but nice! It never did end up raining on us and we even got some good glimpses of the sun!!
At first neither one of the kids wanted to put on their costumes, but eventually I got Abygail into hers! Jaycob I think was just really liking wearing his hoodie and didn't want to take it off to put on his frog. And on top of it all I forgot to bring their candy buckets... Good thing they gave us bags when we entered!

These pictures were all taken while we were waiting to get in. Too cute Jaycob trying to tell Abygail to wag her tail!!

This was kinda set up like a craft fair, without all the crafts. It was just companies trying to get their name out there and passing out candy! A LOT OF CANDY!!! Oh man we got so much candy! We also colored on some pumpkins that we got to bring home....
On the way out Abygail seen this little boy dressed as a dalmatian, and he seen her and they both just took off!!! They had so much fun just running together, they were sooo cute. Actually we all had so much fun!!

Pretty Pretty Pumpkins

Remember we went and picked out pumpkins a bit ago? Well today we painted their pumpkins.

Here's Jaycob's pretty pumpkin:

And Abygail's pretty pumpkin:

The process of getting the pumpkins painted:

Notice the concentration?

After they got done with the pumpkins they wanted to keep painting. So I told them not to touch the paint while I went and got paper. I returned to find... Well, lets just say the paint was touched! So I took it away. Yeah I know mean mommy!! But they wanted to keep sitting at our new little activity table so I gave them some Play-Doh.

Pumpkin Prints

Today we made pumpkin prints! All I did was paint the kids palms orange and had them make the pumpkins on the paper. Then painted a finger green and told them to put the stems on the pumpkins. I had actually seen this idea somewhere on-line a few years ago and you're also supposed to let them take the handle end of a paint brush to connect all the pumpkins to make it look like they're all growing out in the patch still. But I didn't let the kids do it this year, I could just see the whole paper covered in green!

Both of the kids were quite unsure about me painting on their hands. But Abygail eventually stuck out her hand for me to paint. She thought it tickled and kept moving it making it quite hard to paint. She did her 3 pumpkin prints and wouldn't let me paint her hand anymore saying "hurt". I guess she was just done! I did talk her into letting me paint her finger, she did one little stem and then she was done with that too. Hers is the bottom picture.

After Jaycob watched Abygail do her prints he was more then willing to let me paint his hand too. His first pumpkins are on the top in this picture... See the upside down pumpkin? I had to really talk him into the fact that the pumpkins could touch each other. The two papers here and the one in the picture up there ^^^^ are all his. As you can see he really enjoyed doing these and we did until all the paint on the plate was gone!
He would have had me paint his hand all day if I would have let him!

Play-Doh Fun

Today we played with Play-Doh.... Obviously.... Here's some pictures!

See my pretty snowman?? hehehe... See Jaycob's creation on the left? He was so proud of that, he said it was a tree.

He said the rain cloud knocked over the tree^^^^

Abygail loved cutting it up into tiny pieces and concentrated on her work very hard!
