What Are These Plants?
I'm no green thumb... SO please tell me what kind of plants these are and what I should be doing with them! I just know this first one grows back like a weed! I pulled them all up last fall and within two weeks they were back with flowers and all!!
This one I didn't pull up last fall. But come this spring it has all kinds of new growth coming in... The one on the other side of the bed is 3 times bigger!
Just tell me what they are and what I should be doing with them! Please? Anyone?
Melanie, it looks to be your first picture is a Vinca plant.
ReplyDeleteThe second one looks to be a spider plant. (*And no, it does not attract spiders. LOL!*) The way that I can honestly say it is a spider plant is if they have similar baby spouts coming out looking like the the bigger one.
Yep, the smaller shoots look just like the bigger ones, just greener!
ReplyDeleteYep, it is definitely a spider plant! I honestly like them. If you take the smaller ones and just put them in a spot you like, they will shoot another plant!! They are pretty interesting. Both of those plants you have a definitely perennials. So if you decide to get rid of them,you have to make sure you get ALL of the plant. If not you will definitely have a unexpected visitor next year ;)
ReplyDeleteOk Vinca... I looked it up and the flower looks like that. But 1)I can't find a single picture of one that has leaves like mine. Mine have white on them and they're not glossy! 2)everything I'm reading says this is a ground cover. Mine climbs.Last year it was all the way up the porch pole!
